Taylor Street’s private equity program is focused on investing in lower middle market private equity funds and equity co-investments for clients with a multi-generational timeline. The Taylor Street strategy is an evolution of a successful 20+ year history investing in private equity.

Position Overview:

The Senior Associate, Private Equity will play a key role in supporting the implementation and execution of the Family Office’s lower middle market private equity strategy. Working closely with the Managing Director, this individual will be responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing, and managing private equity fund investments and co-investments. This position offers the opportunity to gain significant exposure to both fund investments and direct coinvestments, while contributing to the long-term growth and institutionalization of the private equity strategy for the Family Office’s multi-generational strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Sourcing & Evaluation

• Assist in identifying and evaluating private equity fund investment opportunities across various lower middle market strategies, including buyout, growth equity, and special situations.

• Support sourcing and due diligence efforts for direct equity co-investments alongside private equity sponsors across a wide variety of industries.

• Conduct industry and market research to identify investment trends, attractive sectors, and emerging fund managers.

Due Diligence & Investment Analysis:

• Perform in-depth financial analysis, including LBO modeling, return sensitivity analysis, and capital structure assessments.

• Analyze fund manager track records, underlying fund portfolio companies, investment strategies, and operational capabilities.

• Evaluate direct co-investment opportunities by assessing company financials, competitive positioning, and value creation potential.

• Prepare investment memos, presentations, and recommendations for internal investment committee and board discussions.

Transaction Execution & Structuring:

• Support negotiation of investment terms, legal documentation, and structuring of fund commitments and co-investments.

• Work closely with legal counsel to structure, negotiate, and close customized transactions with complex legal agreements.

• Assist in managing closing processes, coordinating with internal and external resources.

Portfolio Management & Monitoring:

• Monitor fund investments and direct co-investments, tracking financial performance, risk exposure, and portfolio diversification.

• Maintain ongoing relationships with fund managers and portfolio company management teams. • Support quarterly and annual reporting processes, including valuation modeling, risk assessment, and exposure analysis.

• Assist in capital call and distribution tracking in collaboration with finance and operations teams.

Strategic Growth & Relationship Development:

• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, sponsors, and intermediaries throughout the United States.

• Attend industry conferences, networking events, and fund manager meetings.

• Work with and support portfolio companies, including adding value as a participant on the Advisory Board or in a Board Observer role through providing strategic or operational support (through industry connections or otherwise).

• Contribute to process improvements and best practices for fund diligence and coinvestment execution.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.

• 4-7 years of experience in private equity, private credit, investment banking, or a related field.

• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence skills with a deep understanding of lower middle market private equity investment strategies and capital structures.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present investment recommendations clearly and concisely.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

This role provides a strong career path for professionals seeking to advance within private equity investing while working closely with leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
