About Client Group

Client Group is not your typical private equity firm. We are long-term stewards of industrial businesses, acquiring and growing strong, values-driven companies with a commitment to never sell . Our unique model offers business owners a permanent home-honoring their legacy, supporting their teams, and building sustainable futures.

Position Overview

We're seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Private Equity Associate to join our Investments & Operations team. This role goes beyond traditional deal execution-you'll play a hands-on role in sourcing, acquiring, and growing industrial companies while working closely with owners and operators. It's an opportunity to drive real impact, gain operational exposure, and help shape lasting legacies.

Proactively identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities aligned with our long-term philosophy.

Conduct financial modeling, market research, due diligence, and qualitative assessments.

Assess operational fit and cultural alignment with our values.

Deal Execution

Support end-to-end deal process including negotiations, legal documentation, and closing logistics.

Collaborate with legal, financial, and advisory partners to facilitate smooth transactions.

Post-Acquisition Support

Work directly with management teams to support strategic growth and operational improvements.

Assist with budgeting, KPI development, performance tracking, and leadership coaching.

Legacy Preservation

Partner with former owners to ensure smooth transitions that maintain company culture and employee well-being.

Advocate for long-term stability-no layoffs, relocations, or bureaucracy.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Work

Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including process optimization, team development, and strategic planning.

Travel to portfolio companies regularly to build trust and lead hands-on value creation.

What We're Looking For

Analytical & Strategic Thinker : Strong financial modeling and business analysis skills with the ability to connect financial insights to strategic action.

Entrepreneurial Spirit : Comfortable with ambiguity, resourceful, and hands-on-ready to roll up your sleeves.

Operationally Curious : Interest in the inner workings of industrial businesses, from shop floor to CEO.

People-First Mindset : Committed to preserving culture, community, and legacy in the businesses we acquire.

Exceptional Communicator : Able to build trust with owners, operators, and colleagues through clear and thoughtful communication.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field. MBA is a plus but not required.

Experience : 2 5 years in private equity, investment banking, consulting, or operational roles. Lower middle market and industrial sector experience highly valued.

Skills :

Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling

Familiarity with due diligence and deal structuring

Understanding of operational KPIs, performance metrics, and strategic growth drivers

Why Join Us?

Mission-Driven Work : Join a team that values long-term thinking, integrity, and human-centered investing.

Meaningful Impact : Your work directly supports small businesses, employees, and local communities.

Ownership from Day One : Be involved in decision-making and implementation-not just analysis.

Learning & Growth : Get direct mentorship from experienced investors and operators; gain broad exposure typically reserved for more senior roles.

Flexible, Action-Oriented Culture : Enjoy a remote-first environment with autonomy, minimal bureaucracy, and hands-on involvement at portfolio companies.
