Job summary

Orchard is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join our Legal & Regulatory team in a hybrid NY-based role. You will advise on commercial and regulatory matters, support product expansion, and balance business needs with legal risk across regulated real estate services.

The ideal candidate has 7–12 years of experience, strong contract negotiation skills, data privacy expertise, and a state bar in good standing.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of experience in commercial and/or regulatory law.
• Experience negotiating partnerships and joint ventures.
• Experience with data privacy regimes and related policies.
• Knowledge of real estate brokerage or mortgage regulatory frameworks is a plus.
• State bar admission in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a legal generalist across commercial and regulatory matters for Orchard’s products and services.
• Negotiate and structure complex contracts, partnerships, and ventures.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to manage legal risk.
• Advise on expansion into new states and regulatory inquiries.
• Manage outside counsel and oversee data privacy program improvements.
