Job summary

Orchard is hiring an Associate General Counsel to join its growing Legal & Regulatory team. Based out of the New York City office with a hybrid in-office schedule (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), the role welcomes candidates in Austin, TX or Denver, CO for remote work.

The pay range for Denver-based applicants is $225K-$260K, with stock options and comprehensive benefits. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional legal support, manage regulatory risk across multiple business lines, and help

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years in commercial and/or regulatory law.
Experience negotiating with large companies.
Knowledge of residential real estate-related regulations (RESPA, TILA, etc.).
Ability to navigate overlapping regulations in business contexts.
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work independently.
Strong collaboration and relationship-building across teams.

Responsibilities

Serve as a legal and regulatory partner across multiple business units.
Lead negotiations and manage commercial partnerships from inception to execution.
Support mortgage, title, and product teams to ensure compliant offerings.
Coordinate with Product & Engineering to balance innovation with risk.
Liaise with state regulators on expansion and compliance.
Manage outside law firms and control legal spend.
Help develop data privacy and information security policies.
