Job summary

MASA (Medical Air Services Association, Inc) is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join the team remotely across the U.S. or in a hybrid role based in South Florida. You will be the General Counsel's right hand, guiding product launches, regulatory access, and major disputes while balancing business priorities and regulatory risk.

The role requires a J.D. and 8+ years of insurance regulatory experience, with in-house exposure to executives and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8 years of progressive legal experience with substantial insurance regulatory work.
• In-house experience advising executives and weighing legal risk against commercial priorities.
• Ability to set priorities and work effectively with lean resources.
• Strong regulatory and multistate product filings experience.
• Hands-on use of AI in legal work with governance and verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead MASA's products, market access, regulatory relationships, and major disputes.
• Oversee multistate product filings from submission through approval and implementation.
• Shape regulatory strategy and coordinate licensing for Caribbean and international operations.
• Partner with product, distribution, claims, and operations teams on strategic legal matters.
• Direct outside counsel on litigation strategy, budgets, and settlements.
• Drive day-to-day decisions within delegated authority and mentor the legal team.
• Leverage AI tools for faster research, drafting, and state-by-state analysis.
