Job summary

Baker Tilly’s Value Acceleration Office (VAO) team is seeking a tech-savvy Senior Associate to support client onboarding and accounting system implementations. You’ll combine accounting knowledge with project support and technology to modernize financial operations and transition clients to ongoing support.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in accounting and strong communication, with experience in cloud accounting platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience required; professional services experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Adaptability and a willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and best practices.
• Familiarity with project management practices preferred.
• Experience with cloud accounting platforms such as Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, BILL.com, or Ramp required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize cloud accounting solutions and perform accounting readiness services.
• Support client deliverables by providing accounting guidance and answering software-related questions, escalating when appropriate.
• Accounting process design and optimization.
• Prepare documentation to ensure a smooth transition to recurring service teams.
• Communicate progress, flag risks and roadblocks early, and seek clarification to maintain project momentum.
• Deliver high-quality work on time while meeting client expectations and project budgets.
• Build strong relationships with clients and collaborate effectively across internal teams.
• Follow established processes while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and client outcomes.
• Continue developing your accounting and technology expertise through ongoing learning, certifications, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to a collaborative, supportive team culture that values professional growth and work-life balance.
