Job summary

Hopelink is seeking an Assistant Controller – Finance in Redmond, WA. This hands-on leadership role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, supervises the Accounting Team, and ensures accurate financial records, timely close, and strong internal controls.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, manage payroll and AP/AR, and work with the Grants Team to reflect all activity in Hopelink's books. A CPA/CMA is preferred, with 5+ years nonprofit accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience with general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• GAAP mastery with nonprofit focus and grants knowledge helpful (2 CFR Part 200).
• Supervisory experience leading accounting staff and coordinating with Grants team.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly accounting calendar and deadlines to ensure timely close.
• Prepare and post complex journal entries and review staff entries.
• Reconcile balance sheets and GL accounts, review staff reconciliations.
• Maintain GL integrity and GAAP compliance with Hopelink policies.
• Research and advise on unusual accounting issues with Controller.
• Assist in monthly/annual financial statements and audits.
• Coordinate with Grants Team to record grant activity accurately.
• Prepare financial and statutory filings and ensure timely reporting.
