Job summary

Hopelink is seeking an Assistant Controller- Finance in Redmond, WA. This hands-on role leads day-to-day accounting, supervising staff, and ensuring accurate monthly/year-end closes under the Controller.

The ideal candidate has extensive nonprofit accounting experience, GAAP mastery, and advanced Excel skills, with familiarity in MIP Fund Accounting and Microix workflows. CPA/CMA preferred; hybrid schedule with some in-person work in Redmond.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including GL, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of GAAP.
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred; knowledge of federal grant requirements and 2 CFR Part 200 helpful.
• Experience supervising accounting staff.
• Advanced Excel; experience with MIP Fund Accounting and Microix workflow models.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the monthly accounting calendar, ensuring timely completion of activities.
• Prepare and post recurring, complex journal entries; review entries by staff.
• Prepare balance sheet and GL reconciliations; resolve reconciling items.
• Maintain GL integrity and GAAP/compliance across Hopelink policies.
• Research complex accounting issues and advise with Controller.
• Support the Controller in preparing financial statements and audits; assist Grants Team.
• Prepare financial and statutory filings and ensure timely reporting.
