Job summary

8090 Solutions Inc is seeking an Assistant Controller to join the finance leadership team in Redwood City. You will run the monthly close, prepare financial statements, and prepare the company for its first audit, while building scalable controls and processes.

This role goes beyond the ledger: you will help with equity administration, cap table integrity, grants and stock-based compensation, and work with Legal, People and outside advisors as we scale.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• 7+ years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in public accounting at senior or manager level.
• 2+ years in a controllership or accounting leadership role at a high-growth or venture-backed company.
• Strong command of US GAAP, ASC 606, and month-end close experience.
• Experience with stock-based compensation (ASC 718) and equity administration.
• Detail-oriented, with ability to explain complex accounting clearly.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite) and close-automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual close, including calendars, journal entries, reconciliations and flux analysis.
• Build and own board and investor reporting packages.
• Design and implement internal controls and accounting policies; SOX readiness.
• Coordinate with external auditors; drive a clean, on-time audit.
• Develop equity administration foundations: cap table, grants, and exercises; stock-based compensation.
• Support tax compliance and filings with outside advisors.
