Job summary

Ever, a leading tech-enabled automotive retailer, seeks an experienced Assistant Controller in San Francisco. You will own the monthly close, oversee technical accounting, and drive automation for scalable financial processes under U.S. GAAP.

You will partner with Finance, Operations, and Leadership to ensure accurate reporting, audit readiness, and strong internal controls while mentoring the team in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA encouraged.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and statements.
• Experience supporting external audits and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; capable of multi-priority work.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and chart of accounts.
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams for accurate reporting.
• Research and apply U.S. GAAP guidance to complex transactions.
• Support audit readiness and external audit coordination.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve accounting workflows.
