Job summary

Target in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior Target Security Specialist to lead physical security and safety for our supply chain facility. You will oversee routines to deter theft, support crisis response, and collaborate with store and supply chain partners to protect assets.

You'll operate yard and perimeter patrols, assist with onboarding of Asset Protection staff, and help maintain documentation and procedures while working a nightly shift from 1:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and remain calm during crisis situations.
• Proven ability to work with highly confidential information.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Possess or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other requirements related to the position.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and remain composed in a fast-paced environment, accomplishing multiple tasks within established times independently.
• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including patrols and other routines.
• Ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to be trained on and operate all powered equipment safely.
• Ability to operate technology systems with minimal direction after receiving training.
• Reliable and prompt attendance necessary.
• Prior experience in loss prevention, shortage mitigation, security, or similar preferred but not required.
• Ability to be trained and act on de-escalation tactics.
• Ability to safely conduct internal and external patrols frequently throughout your shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead a physical security and safety culture for the facility.
• Identify, prevent and investigate theft and shortage through routines and tech.
• Operate Target-owned vehicles for yard and perimeter patrols.
• Lead and/or support enterprise-wide assets protection initiatives.
• Execute emergency procedures and incident notifications.
• Support onboarding of new Asset Protection team members.
• Review and update routine documentation as needed.
