Easterseals of New Jersey seeks an ASL Interpreter to support Central NJ (Middlesex and Somerset Counties). The role delivers interpretation for staff meetings, trainings, town halls and external meetings, ensuring accessible communication across the organization.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Interpreting, RID certification, 5+ years of interpreting experience, and proficiency with MS Office and Zoom. A valid driver's license is required.

Competenze

• Associate degree in Interpreting or related field; Bachelors’ Degree preferred.
• RID Interpreter Certification required.
• 5+ years of interpreting experience; Well-versed in Deaf culture.

Mansioni

• Provides interpretation for staff meetings, trainings, town halls and external meetings.
• Mentors and develops noncertified interpreters with professional development plans.
• Develops a professional development curriculum to train novice interpreters.
• Conducts sign language skill assessments for potential new hires.
• Evaluates and provides feedback to novice staff to improve skills.
• Coaches staff by conducting weekly follow-up meetings to enhance interpretation.
• Identifies workshops and training opportunities for staff.
• Interprets for internal and external stakeholders, including audits and state meetings.
• Represents Easterseals at State agency meetings.
