Job summary

Motorola Solutions' Silvus Technologies seeks a Senior Business Development Engineer for the US Army, reporting to the Director of Applications Engineering. You will translate Army requirements into technically sound, interoperable solutions and demonstrate field-readiness of our tactical portfolio.

Travel up to 50%, with 100% remote work eligibility depending on location, and collaboration with BD and engineering teams to deliver win-ready demonstrations and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field with at least 5 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma/GED with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based tactical routing protocols, and tactical communication systems.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire; must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Willingness to travel frequently (50%) to customer sites and DoD environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Army Capability Set requirements and Mission Command network design goals to map operational gaps to our tactical radio capabilities.
• Conduct market research to identify end-to-end product solutions and synergies with emerging industry partners; collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to test and evaluate architectures.
• Design and build demonstrations tailored to the Army, highlighting future tactical edge network possibilities.
• Lead technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials and evaluations with BD and Applications Engineering teams.
• Collaborate to leverage large-scale testing and competitive benchmarking data to ensure architectures are sound.
• Engage Army program managers, S&T leads, and warfare centers to translate advanced technology capabilities into program requirements.
• Align with the Business Development team to set strategic priorities and support technical needs.
• Serve as technical anchor for RFI/RFP response, providing direction and ensuring proposal accuracy and alignment.
• Build trusted advisory relationships with Chief Engineers, SMEs, and technical evaluators across the Army.
• Translate Army feedback into actionable product roadmaps and track progress to meet operational needs.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
