RK&K is seeking an SOI-qualified architectural historian for a permanent, full-time role in the Southeast, based in SC or GA. You will lead historic surveys, contribute to NEPA documents, and advise on preservation regulations, collaborating with architects, archaeologists, and planners.

The ideal candidate has an SOI qualification, 8–15 years of SC/GA experience, and strong writing skills. Some travel and supervision of field staff are involved.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architectural History, History, Historic Preservation or closely related field.
• 8–15 years architectural experience in SC/GA.
• 5+ years architectural project management; supervise staff.
• SOI-qualified in architectural history/history.
• Expertise with Section 106 NHPA consultation.
• Understanding of NEPA and Section 4(f).
• Strong writing and communication; detail oriented.
• Experience on SDOT projects is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Complete historic architectural surveys and context studies in SC/GA.
• Develop proposals and supervise field staff; QA/QC reports.
• Advise on Section 106 NHPA and preservation regulations.
• Draft Section 106 agreement documents.
• Contribute to NEPA documents and 4(f) evaluations.
• Assist planners and staff with business development; identify clients.
• Travel out of state as required.
