Job summary

RK&K seeks an SOI-qualified architectural historian to lead historic resources investigations across Florida and the Southeast. You will serve as Principal Investigator, supervise field staff, develop proposals, and ensure Section 106 and NEPA compliance for projects.

The role requires extensive Florida experience, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, planners, and clients. Travel out of state is expected.

Qualifications

• Eight to fifteen years of architectural experience in Florida.
• Five+ years of architectural project management experience.
• SOI-qualified in architectural history and/or history.
• Expertise with Section 106 of NHPA consultation.
• Understanding of NEPA and Section 4(f).
• Ability to work independently and in teams including historians, archaeologists, and engineers.
• Strong research, technical writing and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete historic architectural surveys and context studies in Florida.
• Develop proposals and supervise field staff; QA/QC of reports.
• Advise on Section 106 compliance for projects and clients.
• Draft Section 106 agreement documents and contribute to NEPA work.
• Support business development and client outreach; attend conferences.
