Zusammenfassung

RK&K is seeking a Secretary of the Interior (SOI)-qualified architectural historian for the Southeast region. This permanent, full-time role is based in an RK&K office in North Carolina and will collaborate with architectural historians, archaeologists, and environmental planners.

The position requires travel out of state and involves leading historic surveys, proposal development, field supervision, and Section 106/NEPA compliance guidance.

Qualifikationen

• Masters degree in Architectural History or closely related field.
• 8–15 years of architectural experience in North Carolina.
• 5+ years of architectural project management experience overseeing surveys and staff.
• SOI-qualified in architectural history and/or history.
• Expertise with Section 106 NHPA consultation.
• Understanding of NEPA and Section 4(f).
• Ability to work independently and in a team of historians, archaeologists, planners and engineers.
• Strong research, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Fluency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience on North Carolina DOT projects.
• Valid driver’s license and clean record.

Aufgaben

• Complete historic architectural surveys and context studies across North Carolina.
• Develop proposals and supervise field staff; QA/QC reports.
• Advise clients and RK&K engineers on Section 106 compliance.
• Draft Section 106 agreement documents and contribute to NEPA and 4(f evaluations.
• Support regional planners and business development by identifying clients and markets.
