Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to lead architectural design across our Northeast Region for water and wastewater projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, oversee design quality, and drive from concept through construction.

The role emphasizes design excellence, constructability, and regulatory compliance, with travel to project sites in the Northeast as needed. In-person work with a strong, collaborative culture awaits in this dedicated water infrastructure

Qualifications

Bachelor degree required from a US-accredited program.
15 years of architectural experience focused on infrastructure/public works.
Strong construction administration experience.
Ability to develop contract documents (drawings & specs).
Leadership experience interfacing with clients and managing staff.

Responsibilities

Lead architectural design from schematic development through construction-ready documents.
Coordinate with engineering, estimating, PM, and field staff for integrated designs.
Ensure regulatory compliance with AHJs and code officials.
Conduct existing conditions assessments for water/wastewater projects.
Direct renovation, historic restoration, and preservation efforts.
Perform construction administration tasks (RFIs, submittals, site visits).
Support cost estimating, scheduling, and value engineering.
