Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Architect to lead architectural design across our Northeast Region, supporting water and wastewater clients. The role involves guiding multidisciplinary teams and overseeing design quality, technical rigor, and integration from concept through construction.

The position requires 15 years of architectural experience, Revit familiarity, and the ability to travel to project sites in the Northeast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture or BS in Architectural Technology from a U.S. accredited university.
• 15 years of architectural experience with emphasis on detailing and constructability for infrastructure or public works.
• Ability to develop contract documents, including technical drawings and specifications.
• Proven experience leading projects, managing design staff, and interfacing with clients.
• Familiarity with Revit and its capabilities to oversee project delivery.
• Willing to travel to project sites throughout the Northeast.

Responsabilités

• Lead architectural design from schematic development through construction-ready documents, ensuring precise technical detailing and high-quality specs.
• Review, refine, and integrate architectural details for constructability and clarity.
• Collaborate with engineering, estimating, project management, and field staff to produce integrated designs.
• Coordinate with consultants, AHJs, and code officials for regulatory compliance.
• Conduct existing conditions assessments and prepare design/technical reports for water projects.
• Lead renovation and historic restoration, including preservation of architectural features.
• Perform construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site inspections, and clarifications.
• Participate in cost estimating, scheduling, and value engineering.
