Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Senior Architect for the Emerging Technologies Experimentation Team to drive next-generation innovation by designing, prototyping, and implementing forward-looking technical solutions. You will guide architectural decisions to ensure prototypes can move to production and align with Twilio’s enterprise architecture across scalable, distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in architecture or principal engineering roles in innovative, fast-paced environments.
• Applied fraud detection and governance framework experience.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and LLMs with experience deploying models or AI-driven projects.
• Demonstrated success designing large-scale, high-performance architectures across AWS & Azure
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with proven ability to drive technical direction.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with both front-end (React, Angular) and back-end (Node.js, Spring, SpringBoot) development.
• Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and their tradeoffs.
• Experience contributing to open source or tech innovation communities.
• Track record of rapid prototyping and iterative product development.
• Exposure to distributed systems and high-reliability platforms.
• Knowledge of risk management best practices in experimental projects.
• Experience working with global teams and remote-first environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for emerging technologies.
• Advanced problem-solving skills with ability to anticipate technology trends.
• Background in engineering and technical architecture roles.

• Experiment and iterate on new product ideas, leveraging AI, machine learning, and emerging tech.
• Lead technical direction, guiding and mentoring engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
