Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Senior Architect for the Emerging Technologies Experimentation Team to drive next-gen innovations, designing scalable solutions and guiding engineering across the lifecycle.

In this remote-first role, you will lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers in the US and India, and collaborate with leadership to advance AI-first experiments. Strong communication and proactive problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in architecture or principal engineering roles within innovative, fast-paced environments.
• Applied fraud detection and governance framework experience.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and LLMs with experience deploying models or AI-driven projects.
• Demonstrated success designing large-scale, high-performance architectures across AWS & Azure
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with proven ability to drive technical direction.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, Go).
• Experience with both front-end (React, Angular) and back-end (Node.js, Spring, SpringBoot) development.
• Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and their tradeoffs.

This position is needed to drive next-generation innovation by designing, prototyping, and implementing forward-looking technical solutions for Twilio's innovation team.As an Sr Architect, you'll leverage your depth of technical knowledge, architectural vision, and leadership to pioneer transformative ideas. This role will be remote and based in the United States.

Travel

Compensation

Please note this role is open to candidates outside of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

• Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $284,320 - $355,400.
• Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $292,080 -- $365,100.
• Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $324,480 - $405,600.

This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan and corporate bonus plan.

All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
