Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Architect to lead project teams in designing and redeveloping a range of facilities, including corporate, healthcare, sports venues, data centers, airports, institutional, and government buildings.

You will guide the design through the full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with codes and client needs while coordinating with field teams and consultants. Strong leadership, technical, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture from an NAAB accredited program.
• Master's degree in architecture and related experience preferred.
• Minimum eight years of architectural experience.
• Registered architect preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design from conceptual phase through design completion for needs set by project managers.
• Develop, modify, and review production drawings for healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and government/military facilities.
• Manage project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning; oversee change orders.
• QA/QC of drawings and coordination with field personnel to resolve design issues.
• Lead design teams for large, complex projects and mentor junior staff.
• Prepare and present technical reports for clients and publications.
