Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Architect to join our Columbus team. You will collaborate with project teams to design corporate, healthcare, data centers, airports, and institutional facilities through design development and construction phases.

The role requires NAAB-accredited degrees and progress toward licensure, strong communication, and leadership abilities. Proficiency in BIM (Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering is expected. Travel and schedule details apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program with 4 years related experience
• Master’s Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program with 3 years related experience
• Progress toward becoming a registered architect
• Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of standard architectural concepts, codes, and procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate critical thinking
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, organization, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Design architectural projects from conceptual phase through design completion
• Modify and review production drawings for data centers, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, governmental and military facilities
• Design exterior and interior components and architectural requirements per project managers' vision
• Update drawings across multiple software platforms to verify corrections
• Prepare client presentations, shop drawings review, and contract administration for detailed designs
• Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients
• Comply with all policies and standards
