Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Fort Worth, TX seeks an experienced Architect to lead design from concept to completion for healthcare, aviation, education and government facilities. You will develop drawings, review deliverables, and manage project scope, budget, and staffing with PM guidance.

Responsibilities include QA/QC, field coordination, and reporting; mentoring junior staff and presenting technical reports. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program is required.
• Master Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program is preferred.
• Minimum eight years of architectural experience.
• Registered architect preferred.
• Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of building codes, ADA standards, exterior envelope design, technical detailing, and specification writing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead design teams for large, complex projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Develop, modify, and review production drawings for healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and government/military facilities.
• Participate in project scheduling, scope, budget, staffing planning, and construction planning; manage change orders.
• Quality review production drawings and coordinate QA/QC with project managers to ensure design compliance.
• Lead field inspections, site visits, measurements, and calculations for clients.
• Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
• Build relationships with clients and contractors; identify and pursue new business opportunities.
