Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead complex cultural resource projects across the United States. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and strengthen client relationships while expanding ERM’s cultural resources presence.

This leadership role requires strong consulting skills, regulatory acumen, and a passion for mentoring others to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field plus 8+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain archaeology and cultural resource permits.
• Experience producing agency-reviewed technical reports.
• Willingness to travel within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee literature review, field reconnaissance, and archaeological studies from planning through completion.
• Provide technical consulting to grow ERM’s archaeology and cultural heritage portfolio.
• Lead projects and manage subcontractors to ensure quality and schedule.
• Mentor junior staff and develop client relationships across the country.
• Collaborate with other ERM practice areas for interdisciplinary delivery.
• Represent ERM in meetings with state, federal, and local agencies.
• Prepare proposals to meet client needs.
