Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead multidisciplinary cultural resource projects across the United States. You will guide teams, manage client relationships, and advance ERM’s leadership in the cultural resources market while navigating regulatory requirements and complex projects.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, mentoring, business development, and collaboration with ERM’s global practice areas to deliver high-quality outcomes for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology/Archaeology or closely related field.
• 8+ years of related paid experience.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Demonstrated business development abilities and ability to maintain client relationships.
• Ability to obtain archaeological and cultural resource permits.
• Demonstrated experience completing inventory, survey, testing, and/or data recovery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multidisciplinary archaeological studies and cultural resource projects from planning through completion.
• Provide technical consulting to support growth of ERM’s archaeology and cultural heritage business.
• Interact with other ERM practice areas to share resources and best practices.
• Represent ERM in meetings with state, federal, and local agencies.
• Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire, and mentor personnel for the technical team.
