Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead multidisciplinary cultural resource projects across the United States. You will supervise teams, engage with clients and agencies, and expand ERM’s presence in the cultural resources market.

The role blends technical leadership, project management, business development, and mentorship, with opportunities to influence project delivery and growth across ERM’s national network.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field with 8+ years paid experience.
• Ability to obtain archaeological and cultural resource permits.
• Experience completing inventory, survey, testing, and/or data recovery.
• Experience as primary author on agency-reviewed technical reports.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Familiar with regulatory processes (FERC, USACE, THC).
• Willingness to travel within the United States.
• Not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee archaeological studies and cultural resource projects from planning through completion.
• Serve as a technical advisor to clients and regulatory stakeholders.
• Drive business growth by developing new opportunities and maintaining client relationships.
• Mentor archaeologists and cultural resource professionals.
• Contribute to projects integrating cultural resources into environmental assessments.
• Lead and expand ERM’s leadership in the Cultural Resources market.
