Job summary

ERM seeks a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead multidisciplinary cultural resource projects across the United States. You will supervise teams, guide surveys and data recovery, and strengthen client relationships while expanding ERM's cultural resources market.

This strategic role focuses on technical leadership, project management, business development, and mentoring, with travel across the country and collaboration with ERM's global experts.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field with 8+ years' paid experience.
• Ability to obtain archaeological permits.
• Experience leading inventory, survey, testing, and data recovery.
• Experience as primary author on agency‑reviewed technical reports.
• Strong communication and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee literature review, field reconnaissance, and surveys for archaeological studies.
• Provide technical consulting to grow ERM's archaeology business nationwide.
• Collaborate with other ERM practices to share multidisciplinary resources.
• Represent ERM in meetings with state, federal, and local agencies.
• Communicate regularly with clients via email and phone.
• Manage subcontractors and assist with proposals and budgets.
