Job summary

R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. is seeking an Archaeological Project Manager for its Frederick, Maryland office. The candidate will oversee CRM projects from scope to delivery, coordinating with clients and agencies, while leading field crews and supporting staff.

The role requires a graduate degree in Anthropology/Archaeology, 3+ years CRM experience, and at least 2 years in supervisory roles. GPS/GIS familiarity and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology/Archaeology.
• Minimum 3 years full-time CRM experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory level experience.
• Experience managing field crews and budgets.
• Strong organizational, verbal and writing skills.
• Broad experience across all phases of archaeological investigations (Phase IA to Phase III).
• Familiarity with GPS and GIS technologies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise projects within scope, timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and stakeholders in the field.
• Work with team members including lab staff, historians, GIS/Geophysical specialists.
• Direct field crews and project staff.
• Prepare CRM reports and deliverables compliant with laws and guidelines.
• Train new staff in field techniques and best practices.
• May perform in-field project management as needed.
