The Senior Aquatics Director provides overall direction, coordination, and success of YMCA Pool operations. What is needed for this job:

• 5+ years’ experience in aquatics, fitness, retail, recreation management, or hospitality industries.
• 5+ years’ experience supervising and managing.
• Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns.
• Upon hire, you’ll be required to pursue American Red Cross Lifeguard certification as well as YMCA swim lesson instructor certification.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide leadership in delivering quality within the YMCA aquatic department.
• Understand overall branch revenue and program goals; plan and execute daily/weekly workloads to meet department, membership, and engagement goals.
• Foster a positive environment where teams love to work and members love to visit; recognize member-centered behaviors and reward outstanding performance.
• Create and sustain an inclusive environment that values all individuals' talents, supporting diversity, inclusion, global engagement, and cultural competence.
• Work a schedule aligned with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Ensure the swimming facility meets or exceeds Aquatic Safety Standards.
• Facilitate monthly in-service meetings including skill reviews.
• Supervise staff, ensure appropriate staffing, coordinate breaks, and monitor staff performance and member service quality.
• Develop high-quality aquatics programs, including swim lessons and water fitness classes tailored to community needs.
• Ensure safety and injury prevention by supervising the pool area and monitoring for signs of distress.
