The Advanced Aquatic Director provides overall direction, coordination, and success of YMCA Pool operations. Requirements:
  • 2+ years’ experience in fitness, retail, recreation management, or hospitality industries
  • 2+ years’ experience supervising and managing
  • Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns
  • Upon hire, you’ll be required to pursue American Red Cross Lifeguard certification and YMCA swim lesson instructor certification
Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in delivering quality within the YMCA aquatic department
  • Understand branch revenue and program goals; plan and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department, membership, and engagement goals
  • Foster a positive culture where teams enjoy working and members enjoy visiting; recognize and reward member-centered behaviors
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, global engagement, and cultural competence within the team
  • Work a schedule aligned with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Ensure the swimming facility meets or exceeds Aquatic Safety Standards
  • Facilitate monthly in-service meetings including skill reviews
  • Supervise staff, ensure appropriate staffing, coordinate breaks, and monitor performance and service quality
  • Develop high-quality aquatics programs, including swim lessons and water fitness, tailored to community needs
  • Ensure safety by supervising the pool area and preventing injuries, maintaining vigilance for signs of distress
