Job summary

Pax8, Inc. is hiring a Senior Application Security Engineer for a remote role in the United States. You will partner with engineering leaders to secure cloud marketplace, financial platforms, and AI-enabled products, owning secure design and practical risk decisions.

You will perform threat modeling, code reviews, and hands-on security testing beyond automated findings. Build security into pipelines, mentor teams, and shape guardrails for AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• Substantial application or product security experience with a track record of partnering with software engineering teams.
• Threat modeling and manual code review for web and microservice environments.
• Understanding authorization, multi-tenant isolation, and business-logic vulnerabilities.
• Experience operating application security tooling for source-code analysis, dependency analysis, dynamic testing, and secret detection.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering leads to influence secure design and implementation.
• Lead practical threat modeling and drive engineering decisions.
• Perform hands-on code/design review and security testing to identify issues needing human judgment.
• Own the vulnerability lifecycle, triage findings and drive remediation with teams.
• Improve security tooling within delivery pipelines and integrate into developer workflows.
• Support AI-assisted development guardrails and validate controls in practice.
• Mentor security champions and share learning to reduce recurring defects.
