Pax8 seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own and operate core infrastructure essential to identity, entitlements, and AI eval pipelines. You’ll drive durable, cross‑functional impact across the organization and contribute to safety and reliability of critical software assets.

In this high‑ownership role, you will shape technical direction, scale systems, and mentor teammates while maintaining strong focus on security, data privacy, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Expertise in building and operating complex software systems.
• Ability to make high-stakes architectural decisions and communicate them clearly.
• Experience mentoring engineers toward ownership of large systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate a hard, end-to-end system with a strong technical strategy.
• Make high-consequence decisions about build, scale, or retire on complex problems.
• Mentor engineers to develop judgment and ownership across teams.
• Instrument deployed systems for adoption with data-backed validation.
• Implement safety, security, and privacy controls across systems.
