Job summary

Pax8, Inc is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer II in the United States with remote work options. You will define data engineering standards, platforms, and architectures to enable scalable business intelligence and AI-powered insights across Pax8’s cloud marketplace.

You will own platform decisions, mentor engineers, and drive adoption of modern AI engineering practices to improve reliability and governance across distributed data systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive expertise in SQL, Python, and modern data engineering practices.
• Experience designing distributed data processing solutions and large-scale analytical platforms.
• Strong understanding of data orchestration, streaming technologies, and cloud-native data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Create architectural standards and technical frameworks for multiple engineering teams.
• Establish observability practices including lineage tracking, monitoring, and data quality controls.
• Lead technical reviews and shape architectural decisions through documentation and design reviews.
• Identify opportunities for automation and platform improvements to boost efficiency.
• Coach and mentor engineers on modern data engineering techniques and AI-assisted development.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and data science to translate business challenges into scalable data solutions.
• Define and monitor engineering quality metrics to improve reliability and governance.
