Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to lead the design and delivery of enterprise AI products and platform services. You will own end‑to‑end ownership from requirements through production, partnering with Percepta and other teams.

The role demands shipping production AI systems, governance, and strong collaboration within a hybrid work environment. You will work with Python/SQL, LLMs, MCP servers, and Azure Foundry, building scalable, observable solutions while

Qualifications

• Five+ years of software, data, or platform engineering with a track record of shipping and operating production systems.
• Production experience with LLM applications and agentic systems, including prompt/context engineering and deployment at scale.
• Strong Python and SQL, with code you can maintain and extend.
• Hands-on experience building agentic capabilities such as MCP servers, tools, skills, or connectors for other systems.
• Experience with Azure, containers, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, identity and secret management.
• Experience owning services in production, including monitoring, incidents, and lifecycle management.
• Good judgment in regulated environments and ability to translate security and risk requirements into practical controls.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical work without formal reporting relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and productionise AI products and shared platform services from end to end.
• Build for reuse by turning capabilities into shared components, libraries, and connectors.
• Implement infrastructure as code, own CI/CD pipelines, and ensure operational clarity before releasing services.
• Investigate incidents, drive recovery, and fix root causes across the service stack.
• Engineer agentic workflows and orchestration, including prompt engineering and tool use.
