Job summary

BTS Software Solutions is seeking a senior Applications Engineer III with an active TS/SCI w/ POLY to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD. The role focuses on designing and managing software tools, implementing software with engineering rigor, and mentoring other team members.

The ideal candidate will have extensive software engineering experience, strong design and QA capabilities, and the ability to work across hardware/software interfaces in a secure government environment.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years experience in computer science or software engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline; four (4) years SWE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Designs software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation.
• Manages software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, CASE tools.
• Estimates software development costs and schedule.
• Reviews existing programs and assists in refining, reducing operating time and improving current techniques.
• Defines specifications for software applications or modifies existing ones.
• Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
• Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other task personnel.
• Responsible for quality assurance review and evaluation of software products.
