Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union in Sacramento, CA seeks a Sr Application Developer to join the IT – Service Delivery team. You will provide technical leadership, design and implement database applications, and collaborate with partners to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

The role focuses on applying advanced technical expertise, mentoring staff, and coordinating with stakeholders to translate business needs into solid technical specifications and ongoing enhancements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent work experience required.
7+ years in software design, programming, maintenance, and debugging.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and direction for database applications.
Review, design, and implement core systems using multiple programming languages.
Collaborate with partners to understand platforms, APIs, and database structures.
Define functional requirements and develop technical specifications.
Perform object-oriented and structured programming as needed.
Develop test plans and prototype integrations with third-party systems.
Lead data analysis to improve performance and guide optimization.
Design, maintain, and tune databases for reliability and efficiency.
Mentor the development team and ensure project tasks stay on track.
Create and enforce documentation standards for recovery and stability.
Prepare test scenarios and validate program accuracy against requirements.
Review goals and current tech to propose features and improvements.
