Job summary

ICE is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain high-availability middleware across UNIX and Windows environments. You will work with SWIFT, IBM MQ, and Tableau, delivering reliable messaging and reporting solutions in a fast-paced, regulated financial services setting.

The role emphasizes automation, incident response, and collaboration with developers, operations, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in Systems Engineering or IT.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise middleware and financial messaging platforms, with SWIFT and IBM MQ experience.
• Experience installing, configuring, and administering SWIFT Alliance Access and Alliance Gateway; working knowledge of IBM MQ and Tableau.
• Familiarity with CSCF and Security Attestation processes.
• Windows Server 2019+ and Linux (RedHat) administration in regulated environments.
• Experience with Hardware Security Modules in SWIFT environments.
• Knowledge of SDLC tools like GIT and Puppet; DR/BCP across prod/non-prod.
• Scripting ability in Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl, or JavaScript.
• Clear communication with engineers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver integrated solutions across SWIFT, IBM MQ, and middleware from planning to deployment.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and tune systems for reliability and throughput.
• Support a 24/7 production environment with incident response and on-call rotation.
• Troubleshoot SWIFTNet connectivity, messaging flows, and integrations with back-office systems.
• Manage configurations, patch levels, upgrades, and compliance for SWIFT and MQ.
• Own complex technical problems from root cause to resolution and share learnings.
• Collaborate with developers, ops, release teams, and business units to deliver practical solutions.
• Document SWIFT infrastructure decisions and maintain current operational procedures.
