Job summary

Schneider Electric in Houston is seeking a Senior Engineer I, Application to design digital systems and support infrastructure for industrial customers. You will craft conceptual and detailed designs, specify equipment, and guide project teams through FAT/SAT, commissioning, and deployment.

You will mentor junior engineers, communicate results to stakeholders, and contribute to engineering standards while traveling up to 20% to sites and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in digital systems engineering, industrial automation, telecommunications, industrial networking, cybersecurity, or related disciplines.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting industrial digital systems and communications infrastructures.
• Knowledge of industrial networking technologies, communication protocols, system integration, and data management architectures.
• Ability to develop engineering documentation, specifications, testing procedures, and technical reports.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for digital systems, networks, and automation platforms.
• Provide technical expertise for design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and operation.
• Support FAT, SAT, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
• Identify risks and mitigation plans for project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and support development of engineering capabilities.
• Review work products for quality, compliance, and standards adherence.
• Collaborate with project teams and customers to achieve objectives.
