Job summary

Nordstrom Inc. at our downtown Seattle headquarters is seeking a Senior Product Developer to drive Nordstrom Made private label product, mentor other developers, and partner with Merchandising, Design, and external vendors to create compelling seasonal assortments.

You will lead cost negotiations, manage product milestones, and ensure quality aligns with brand aesthetics and line plans, in a hybrid schedule: four days in the office and one remote day per week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in product development.
  • Design or production in garment manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and garment construction.
  • Experience with domestic and international manufacturers.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication; leadership across levels.
  • Cost engineering and cost negotiations proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook; PLM familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop products engineered to cost standards and review prototypes for quality, brand aesthetic and design intent.
  • Lead milestones and calendar due dates with pre-production tracking and reporting.
  • Lead negotiations with vendors through product lifecycle including costing and time and action.
  • Mentor other product developers within the brand team through development process.
  • Provide costing rollups for final cost and identify sourcing opportunities for efficiency.

Job Description NOTE: This position is located at Nordstrom's downtown Seattle headquarters and follows a hybrid work model, with four days in the office and one remote workday each week. We don’t just sell cutting‑edge fashion and accessories — we create them. Our talented fashion design team - Nordstrom Made - develops, designs, produces, and sources all Nordstrom‑brand products. From traditional to trendy, this team shapes the styles and looks our customers love. And now, we have an exciting opportunity to join this team. We have an opportunity for Senior Product Developer to join the team. As a Senior Product Developer you will drive the development of Nordstrom Made private label product, and you will mentor other Developers. Using your product expertise and strong negotiation skills, you will build products that meet cost and quality standards. You will partner with internal teams including Merchandising, Design, and Technical Design, along with a network of external vendor partners, to create compelling seasonal assortments. A day in the life…

Develop products, with increased style count in breadth and/or scope, that are engineered to cost standards and review prototypes for quality, brand aesthetic, and design intent that meets minimum order quantities and follows line plan. Meet product development milestones and calendar due dates with pre-production tracking and reporting (prototype, color, sample yardage, testing and etc.). Lead negotiations with vendors through product lifecycle i.e. costing, time and action, minimums, etc. Lead and mentor other product developers within brand team through product development, calendar milestones, sourcing strategy and adoption reporting. Place developed and adopted styles in accordance with the Sourcing Strategy and provide ongoing recommendations to support evolution. Provide costing rollups for brand or classification at final cost. Identify potential Raw Materials/Sourcing opportunity for efficiency & speed. Identify root causes and process improvement opportunities. Analyze and leverage company reports to review business, category needs/trends.

Pay Range Details

Pay ranges may be different for other locations. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. $93,500.00 - $155,000.00 Annual
