Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead an enterprise-grade API Platform team responsible for building scalable backend APIs and integrations with API gateways such as Kong, Apigee, and Azure API Management.

You will set strategy, own OKRs, mentor engineers, and champion best practices in security, testing, and accessibility while collaborating with product and architecture to deliver measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of leadership experience directly managing individual contributors.
• 7+ years of experience building enterprise-grade applications at scale.
• 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and 3+ years with TypeScript and modern Node.js backend development.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate backend APIs at scale, including GraphQL-based platforms.
• Set OKRs with your team and track KPIs for health and impact.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and leadership to build strategy and roadmap.
• Lead a team of frontend and backend engineers to build API platform across CVS Health.
• Champion engineering best practices including test coverage, security, and accessibility.
