Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer for API Security to translate hands-on security expertise into credible content, demos, and product marketing programs for API, AI, and agentic security.

You will deploy and document security products, build lab environments, craft technical blogs and guides, and collaborate with Product Marketing, Engineering, and Solution Engineering to reach technical buyers.

Qualifications

• 8 years of hands-on experience in security/marketing or related roles with customer-facing or market-facing experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI agents, LLM security, agent discovery and API interactions.
• Expertise in API Security, WAAP, OWASP API Security Top 10, API gateways, runtime security and traffic analysis.
• Ability to deploy, configure, operate and troubleshoot security or cloud infrastructure.
• Build engaging demonstrations, labs, and technical content linking product capabilities to customer challenges.
• Communicate complex technical information to security practitioners, architects, executives and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate Akamai security products in lab/production-like environments; document capabilities and integration requirements.
• Create reusable demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept playbooks for customers and partners.
• Develop technical blogs, white papers, and architecture content for API Security, Application Security, and AI security solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing to translate capabilities into positioning, launch content, and sales narratives.
• Review messaging and materials to ensure accuracy and defensibility of claims.
• Deliver product demonstrations and technical briefings to customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Work with Product Management, Engineering, and Solution Engineering to translate feedback into product input.
