Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Raleigh, NC to support AP inquiries, process invoices and maintain accurate records. You will provide professional customer service while ensuring compliance with policies and internal controls in a fast-paced Shared Services environment.

Responsibilities include validating invoices against POs, resolving discrepancies, processing payments, reconciling statements and assisting with month-end close.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards and Oracle.
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Verify invoice details, purchase orders, receipts, and approvals before processing.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal departments.
• Monitor AP helpdesk queue and ensure timely resolution of support requests.
• Respond to vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status via phone or email.
• Process payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical records of AP transactions.
• Support audits by providing requested documentation and information.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and customer service.
• Prepare escheats reports by identifying unclaimed property in compliance with state regulations.
• Generate, analyze and resolve invoice Aging reports.
