Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking an experienced senior accountant at our Raleigh, NC corporate office. The role emphasizes month-end close, accruals across multiple plants, and close collaboration with regional leadership to analyze operations and improve processes.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's in accounting or finance, 5+ years of accounting experience (CPA/Masters preferred), strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel with JD Edwards experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or relevant accounting experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience; CPA/Masters degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable.
• Self-starter and able to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills.
• Manufacturing or construction and inventory accounting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting support for regional operations.
• Heavy involvement in the month-end close process.
• Prepare and maintain monthly accruals across multiple plant operations.
• Collaborate with plant personnel to ensure correct recording of transactions.
• Work with regional management on analysis of operating results.
• Prepare timely and accurate management reporting.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Perform standard and ad-hoc analyses.
• Evaluate and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Develop strong knowledge of the business.
• Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
