Stafford County Government’s Finance Office seeks an Accounts Payable Technician to manage vendor payments, invoicing, and related financial tasks with accuracy. This role requires diligent record-keeping and a strong grasp of governmental accounting principles in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in Accounting or Finance and at least one year of related experience. Proficiency in Excel and government financial systems is essential for timely, accurate reporting

Formación

• Associate degree in Accounting or Finance with 1 year of general office/financial support experience.
• Completion of VGFOA or GFOA coursework required.
• Experience with accounts payable and general ledger activities beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain department accounts, accounts payable, and budget transfers; reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Post financial transactions and generate reports; assist with grant reports and reimbursements.
• Reconcile bank statements; process 1099s and payroll data; ensure compliance with procedures.
