Jefferson County Auditor’s Office is seeking an Accounting Technician - Accounts Payable to manage the financial workflow, audit vouchers, reimbursements, and payments for goods and services. The role provides leadership and training for staff, ensuring accurate accounting and compliance with county procedures.

The position requires an AA in accounting or related field with 5+ years of experience (or equivalent); government accounting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• AA in accounting or related field with 5+ years in accounting or bookkeeping, or equivalent.
• HS diploma/GED with 6+ years related experience.
• Equivalent blend of education and experience; governmental accounting preferred.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate financial management of accounting activities and provide leadership to staff.
• Audit vouchers, employee reimbursements, and payments for goods and services.
• Monitor budget lines and contract compliance; prepare monthly journal entries.
• Audit bank reconciliations for county accounts and oversee monthly closings.
