Job summary

Trupanion in Seattle is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Analyst to lead day-to-day AP operations and support AR, Procurement, and reporting. This hands-on, senior role combines analysis, controls, and process improvement to keep AP accurate, timely, and fully operational.

You will cover end-to-end AP processes, back up the AP manager, and collaborate across teams while adhering to GAAP and internal controls. The position offers a hybrid schedule in our Seattle office at least 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years in accounting/finance operations with AP exposure.
• Experience as a senior resource, lead, or backup for AP leadership preferred.
• Experience with 1099 processing, W-9 compliance, and state filings.
• Experience with Workday or similar ERP and AP automation tools.
• GAAP knowledge, internal controls, audit support; SOX familiarity preferred.
• CPA or CAPP certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure AP, AR, Procurement, and Commission processes are GAAP‑aligned and controlled.
• Calculate, validate, and process commissions accurately from sales data.
• Oversee AP/AR/Commission system changes: requirements, testing, validation, implementation.
• Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and actionable recommendations.
• Partner cross‑functionally to implement process improvements for accuracy and scalability.
• Support audits, 1099/W-9, annual filings, and compliance reporting.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and assist with cash forecasting and reporting.
• Cover full end‑to‑end AP when needed and back‑up AP manager as required.
