Job summary

Lab49 is seeking an Android Team Lead to own the technical direction and delivery of client engagements. This hands-on leadership role involves designing systems, writing code when necessary, guiding architecture, and ensuring high-quality outcomes in a client-facing setting.

You will lead a team on a greenfield initiative focused on modernizing large-scale consumer banking experiences, including onboarding, account management, and money movement, with on-site work in Richardson, TX.

Qualifications

• 10-12+ years designing and building complex software systems.
• 4+ years leading Agile teams.
• Expert-level Android apps with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience in consumer banking onboarding and account management.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
• Strong communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, deliver, and test innovative Android applications while understanding our products from both a technical and product perspective in the context of our client’s business.
• Communicate with leadership, product owners, other technologists and users to create working software based on an understanding of business and technical priorities.
• Break down complex problems into elegant technical solutions to intelligently solve problems for Lab49's clients.
• Actively contribute to the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices and new technologies.
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends.
• Experiment with and learn new technologies.
