Job summary

Lab49/ION is seeking an Android Team Lead to direct delivery of client engagements and mentor engineers in NYC's World Trade Center area. You will own the technical direction, design scalable mobile systems, and contribute code when it matters most, focused on banking apps for onboarding, accounts, and money movement.

This hands-on leadership role requires pairing deep Kotlin and Jetpack Compose expertise with strong collaboration with product owners, designers, and stakeholders to ensure

Qualifications

• 10-12+ years of experience designing and building complex, commercial-grade software systems.
• 4+ years leading Agile teams.
• Expert-level skills building production Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience in consumer banking including account management and onboarding.
• Familiarity with integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
• Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices to create intuitive and engaging user experiences
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, deliver, and test innovative Android applications while understanding our products from both a technical and product perspective in the context of our client’s business.
• Communicate with leadership, product owners, other technologists and users to create working software based on an understanding of business and technical priorities.
• Break down complex problems into elegant technical solutions to intelligently solve problems for Lab49's clients.
• Actively contribute to the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices and new technologies. We are always improving the process of building software; we’ll need your help to do that.
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends.
