Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Android Developer for a remote contract engagement. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of core Android apps, collaborating with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance experiences.

You will mentor junior and mid-level engineers and guide technical architecture decisions, leveraging a modern Android stack including Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and RESTful APIs.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 8+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Strong experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, Jetpack Compose, and Material Design.

Responsibilities

• Design & Build: Develop advanced Android applications from scratch or enhance large codebases.
• Architecture: Own MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture and adhere to SOLID and design patterns.
• API Integration: Integrate with RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and backend services.
• Optimization & Quality: Profile performance, fix memory leaks, reduce crashes, and write unit/instrumentation tests.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and mentor teammates.
• CI/CD & Deployment: Manage Git, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and support Google Play release management.
