Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Android Developer for remote, contract work to lead design, development, and maintenance of core Android applications. You will collaborate with product, UX/UI, and backend teams to deliver scalable and high-performance experiences.

You will mentor junior engineers, guide architecture decisions, and participate in Agile ceremonies while ensuring quality through unit tests and CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 8+ years of professional mobile development experience focused on Android.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and modern UI frameworks including Jetpack Compose.

Responsibilities

• Design & Build: Develop advanced, resilient, and responsive Android applications from scratch or enhance existing codebases.
• Architecture: Own application architecture such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture and ensure SOLID principles.
• API Integration: Integrate with RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and backend services.
• Optimization & Quality: Profile performance, address memory leaks, reduce crashes and ANRs, and implement tests.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Participate in Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, and mentor team members.
• CI/CD & Deployment: Manage Git-based source control, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and support Google Play Store release management.
